3 Month Supply

Get out those Sharpies and start marking!

Unless your cupboards are as bare as old Mother Hubbard’s, you probably have some food storage. If what you have isn’t large cans of wheat or dried milk, you may not think of it as food storage, but it is. Remember, the three month supply is foods that you normally eat.

Here is how we get started:
Step 1: There are many methods of acquiring your 3 month supply. On that I liked was on this website(HERE). After finishing this spreadsheet (either by hand or using excel) you will know exactly what your family uses in a 3 month period. They also have a tutorial on how to fill it out.
Step 2 Take an inventory of what you have in your cupboards and mark it off on the spreadsheet.
Step 3 Use coupons and sales to acquire your 3 month supply. (Check out Rachel’s Coupon How To page for more details.)
Step 4 Start putting dates on your food, rotation is important. It doesn’t take long and it can be a fun chore for the kids.
Step 5 When you find good sales, post it! We will all save money when we work together as sisters.

Tip: You can wait until your 3 month supply is completely finished before you use it. That way you don’t get confused with how much you have or need.
